At a London event, former Israeli President Reuven Rivlin made a contentious remark against the late Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom.
Rivlin claimed that because of her opinions toward Israel, relations between Israel and the late Queen Elizabeth II were “difficult,” according to the Times of Israel.
According to a British Jewish News story, the newspaper reported the former president as saying, “The relationship between us and Queen Elizabeth was a little bit difficult because she believed that every one of us was either a terrorist or a son of a terrorist.”
“Apart from international events, she refused to allow any Israeli official into [Buckingham] Palace,” he claimed.
Rivlin compared the present monarch to his mother, saying that King Charles III was always “so friendly.”
