The renowned combo’s lead singer at the moment is Alexander Morris, who joined in 2019.
He sought treatment at the Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Detroit, in April of last year due to chest and breathing difficulties.
He has, however, stated that hospital officials did not accept that he was the well-known singer and instead believed he was mentally sick.
Morris, a black man, filed a lawsuit against the hospital later on, claiming that personnel had put him in a straitjacket and given him instructions to do other inappropriate things.
The federal lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Michigan states that the 53-year-old was put on oxygen after presenting with “clear symptoms of cardiac distress” at the hospital, as reported by News’.
Morris, however, was afraid for his safety from potential stalkers or followers, so he told a nurse and security guard in the emergency hospital that he was a member of the well-known vocal quartet, but they didn’t believe him.
