ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) will now be chaired by Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz Satti, according to a decision made by the federal government.
Sources claim that President Asif Ali Zardari accepted his appointment on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s request. It is anticipated that Satti will take up the role following his army retirement.
Meetings of the Central Selection Board have been postponed since August 2023 due to the FPSC chairperson position being vacant.
Prior to this, Lt Gen Satti was the chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a role to which the government appointed him in 2020.
