Following a protest outside a weapons manufacturing facility controlled by Israel, six persons were taken into custody.
Palestine Action protesters scaled Armstrong Works’ gatehouse on Newcastle’s Scotswood Road and threw debris in front of the gates to barricade entry.
According to Northumbria Police, officers were dispatched to the scene after learning of the protest at approximately 05:20 GMT.
According to the force, a 20-year-old man and five women, ages 20, 21, 24, 27, and 28, were taken into custody on suspicion of conspiring to produce a public disturbance.
