ISLAMABAD According to The News on Sunday, the National Assembly’s Finance Committee has approved a proposal to increase the wages and benefits of senators and Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) to Rs519,000 per month, giving lawmakers a significant cash boost.
According to parliamentary sources, the National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq met with the NA committee prior to accepting the lawmakers’ pay and privilege increases.
In an informal discussion with Sadiq, senior members of all parliamentary parties—including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)—argued for higher MP wages.
