In response to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest and sit-in in the nation’s capital on November 24, the federal administration has developed a strategy.
To better manage the law and order situation in Islamabad, the federal government has begun preparing to send more Frontier Constabulary (FC) officers and Rangers, according to The News.
Since November 22, the Islamabad Police have had 9,000 Rangers and FC officers with complete anti-riot gear available for service.
The Islamabad Police Inspector General has written to request the deployment of 4,000 FC members and 5,000 more Pakistan Rangers.
Sources claim that the Ministry of Interior has started the process of deploying FC and Rangers. The ministry has chosen to speak with the relevant agencies about this.
