ISLAMABAD: The federal government has denied opposition parties’ claims that it banned a hotel in Islamabad from hosting the two-day Grand Alliance Conference. Instead, it has asked the parties to identify the “official or minister” who requested that the administration cancel the moot’s authorization.
The Prime Minister’s advisor on political and public affairs, Rana Sanaullah, asked on the news show Khanzada Kay Sath, “If the opposition has the perseverance to speak the truth, then they must speak true… which minister or government official gave the orders to the hotel administration.”
The announcement was made just hours after Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan, the opposition alliance, charged that the government was “threatening the hotel’s administration” with canceling permission for the moot’s second day, which was taking place at the location.
