RAWALPINDI: In an effort to demonstrate the military’s will to eradicate terrorism from the nation, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has urged Fitna al-Khawarij (terrorists) to turn themselves in to the government if they hope to receive any leniency.
Speaking to students from various institutions at a recent event, the army leader used passages from the Holy Quran and stated, “They should surrender before the state, then they can expect mercy.”
“There are categorical orders that such elements who create Fasad [mischief] be killed, hanged, and have their limbs cut, and they should be ousted from the land,” Gen. Munir stated, quoting from the Holy Quran.
