Renowned mountaineer Naila Kiani stated that education was the greatest mountain one could ascend and that every girl should have the opportunity to reach the top. Kiani was named the National Goodwill Ambassador for Girls’ Education last month.
Kiani’s goal as a goodwill representative for girls’ education in Pakistan is to use her position to motivate and promote changes to the educational system, particularly in the most underprivileged areas.
She claimed her adventure started in the tiny, twisting lanes of her hometown of Rawalpindi, where she first fell in love with climbing, in a phone conversation with APP from Dubai on Sunday.
She said that although her passion had taken her to some of the highest peaks on earth, her heart would always belong to the girls back home, whose aspirations were frequently crushed by social and financial constraints. She also said that her education had been the most dependable anchor, allowing her to dream big and accomplish extraordinary things.
“My fantasy was to reach the sky. I was able to attain those heights because of my education,” she remarked.
Naila concentrated on three main facets as a goodwill ambassador: resource mobilization, mentorship, and advocacy. She thought that these pillars could change Pakistani girls’ access to education.
The goodwill ambassador said, “Climbing is just like achieving your dreams and each step, no matter how small, brings you closer to the top.”
