A residence sustained “significant damage” as a result of an e-bike fire.
Following reports of a fire, the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) was dispatched to Allington Road in Swindon at 12:25 BST on Saturday.
A spokeswoman for the fire service stated that while no one was hurt, one individual experienced smoke inhalation and was sent to the hospital as a precaution.
E-bike and e-scooter owners are advised by station manager Dave Geddes to “have every precaution” to guarantee that their devices are charged safely.
According to the agency, on Saturday it was called to another e-bike fire in Bradford-on-Avon, which the owner managed to put out before firemen showed up.
It further stated that lithium-ion battery fires, which can occur in e-bikes and e-scooters, can spread quickly.
