At the Hundred 2025 player draft held at the Lord’s on Wednesday, none of the Pakistani cricket players were selected because of their uncertain availability for the duration of the competition.
At an upcoming event with eight men’s and women’s teams each, 50 Pakistani cricket players—including five women—went unpicked.
Given the competitive selection procedure and limited abroad places, it was not wholly unexpected that Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Yusra Amir, Iram Javed, and Jaweria Rauf were not selected.
It was more unexpected, though, that despite the fact that there were still a number of foreign spots open for all teams, not a single one of the 45 male Pakistani cricket players in the men’s draft was chosen.
