LAHORE: Babar Azam, the standout batsman for Pakistan, is one of the nominees for the Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year Award from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Babar is nominated alongside Arshdeep Singh of India, Travis Head of Australia, and Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe. Babar is now the top-ranked one-day international (ODI) batter and is sixth in the T20I rankings.
With the aid of six half-centuries and nearly a hundred boundaries, the former Pakistan captain amassed 738 runs in 24 games at a respectable average of 33.54, despite having a difficult year with the bat.
His strike rate improved in the previous year, as the hitter scored 133.21 runs per 100 deliveries.
The three-match away game was the right-handed batter’s finest performance.
