The Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval, Gabba, and MCG pitches all received the highest “very good” grade from the International Cricket Council (ICC), which also announced its pitch ratings for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The SCG ranked second in the “satisfactory” category.
The ratings coincide with the Kangaroos winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in ten years last week with a 3-1 victory in the five-match series.
The hosts won the second, fourth, and fifth Test matches after losing the first one in Perth, while the third match ended in a draw.
Australia advanced to the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord’s in June after winning the series.
