In an update on the AAE-1 underwater cable problem, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) stated on Wednesday that the issue of slow internet had been largely fixed by adding more bandwidth.
According to a statement from the telecom provider, “However, slowness might be experienced on meta-related services (WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram) during peak hours.”
According to the statement, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and PTCL were working hard to achieve the earliest feasible resolution, and a full resolution of the issue is anticipated in the coming days.
The PTA announced last week that a failure in the underwater cable AAE-1 near Qatar could cause disruptions for internet and broadband subscribers.
The submarine cable AAE-1, which is located close to Qatar, was reported to have a malfunction.
