One of the best colleges in Ireland has fined its student union €214,000 (£183,000) for organizing rallies on campus, including marches in support of the Palestinian cause.
A loss of revenue was reported by Trinity College Dublin (TCD) as a result of recent closures of the Book of Kells tourist attraction.
Students have protested against anticipated increases in academic fees and living expenses, as well as the university’s response to the Gaza War.
SU President László Molnárfi told news students and staff to “stand united against management’s suppression of the student voice that has protested for Palestine, for graduate worker rights, and against fees and rising rents.”.
