Because of her royal rank, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, might find it difficult to go back to Hollywood.
The Duchess has made appearances in the Spotify podcast Archetypes and the Netflix documentary series Harry and Meghan since leaving the Royal Family in 2020. Although Netflix was thrilled with the docuseries, the podcast was unable to sustain itself beyond 12 episodes.
Following Meghan’s signing with William Morris Endeavor (WME) last year, there were rumors that she was going back to Hollywood. Hollywood talent agency WME has handled A-listers like Adele and Dwayne Johnson.
Nonetheless, her title as Duchess might make her rumored comeback to the screen more difficult. Meghan has been cautioned by Eleanor Cora of Dauntless PR that casting directors won’t be able to “see past” the title.
“Meghan may find it difficult to get casting directors to see past the Duchess title and give her the kind of roles she really wants,” she said.

This occurs in the midst of a recent argument over the name Lilibet, Meghan and Harry’s kid. According to a recent Robert Hardman royal book, the late Queen Elizabeth was “furious” that the newlyweds didn’t ask her for permission to use the name.
