The Anaconda snake has been divided into two species after specialists discovered that the green anaconda, which is primarily found in South America’s Amazon region, is the longest of the species, reaching a length of almost 26 feet, according to Fox News.
Previously, it was thought that there was only one species of the gigantic snake; however, scientists have since identified two distinct species: northern and southern green anacondas.
A study published in the journal MDPI Diversity examined genomic data from four recognized anaconda species in nine countries.
