A few male fans who showed out to see the event alone and received “unacceptable treatment” have received an apology from the Engine Shed venue.
The club, which describes itself as the biggest live music venue in Lincolnshire, said on its official Instagram page that its admissions process had not lived up to the venue’s admittance policy, which stipulates that all guests must be treated equally and have the same access criteria.
The performance was originally slated for Saturday night, but owing to “a sudden illness,” it had to be canceled with short notice.
A number of males shared on social media that before to being allowed access, they had to answer a quiz about the band.
On X, a fan named Dan wrote: “I just got to the show. I was ushered into a dim area with other males and informed I might be a pervert because I’m alone. After that, I was put into a room by myself with a security guard and searched and questioned. Feel ill.”
He added that staff members had also asked him which song was his favorite from the Last Dinner Party.
