The left-wing French alliance wants to impose gasoline price controls and increase the minimum wage.

Pen,Pen,Pen,Despite winning the most seats in the most recent French elections, the leftist alliance was unable to secure a majority in the National Assembly, which is the lower house of parliament in France, with 289 MPs required.
Leader of the far-right National Rally (RN) party Marine Le Pen placed third, while the Together alliance led by President Emmanuel Macron came in second.

Parties in France are currently vying for power, and it’s not certain how this will all work out, but the NPF has stated that it will carry out its radical agenda.

—”The president must appoint as prime minister someone from the New Popular Front to implement the NFP’s program, the whole program and nothing but the program,” declared Manuel Bompard, a member of the hard-left France Unbowed party, which is a part of the NPF.

willwillIt is unclear if the more centrist-leaning factions of the coalition would split out or if the NPF as a whole will strike an agreement with other parties to establish a majority.

The head of France Unbowed, Jean-Luc Melenchon, has been called Jeremy Corbyn of France, a firebrand, and the most polarizing person in French politics.
