ISLAMABAD: In a sharp response to the US senators’ letter to President Joe Biden on Thursday, Pakistan said that the action was “contrary to inter-state conduct and diplomatic norms” and demanded the release of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
When asked about the Democratic lawmakers’ letter to US President Biden on Pakistani politics during her weekly briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch made this statement.
More than 60 members of the US House of Representatives had written to President Biden, urging him to utilize Washington’s influence with Islamabad to secure the release of the imprisoned founder of the previous ruling party.
