The LSU women’s basketball team drew criticism on Monday night for skipping the national anthem prior to their game against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the regional final.
In a video that OutKick user Dan Zaksheske shared, Iowa players could be seen holding hands while The Star-Spangled Banner was played. Just before the playing of the national anthem, LSU had exited the court.
Sincerely, I have no idea when the national anthem was played,” Mulkey stated, as reported by OutKick. When (our players) are on the floor, we kind of follow a routine, and they leave at the 12-minute mark (before the game).
It was deadlocked at the half between the Tigers, the reigning national champions, and Clark until the third quarter. On her, Clark made nine 3-pointers.
