GHOTKI: During a raid at a home in the Ghotki district, Sindh police reported to have taken into custody a “prime suspect” in the murder of senior journalist Nasrullah Gadani.
According to prominent Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sumair Noor, the “prime suspect” in the death of a prominent journalist was taken into custody by police from a home in the Yaro Lund neighborhood of Ghotki.
He said that two other suspects in the murder case, Abdullah and a facilitator named Barkat, were wanted and would likely be apprehended shortly.
SSP Noor informed the media that the arrested suspect was undergoing questioning and that the reasons for Nasrullah’s murder were yet unknown.
In addition to taking money and a cell phone from the suspect, he said, the police also found a motorcycle that was utilized in the incident.
Zia ul Hassan Lanjar, the Sindh Home Minister, praised SSP Ghotki and his group for apprehending one of the murder suspects of Nasrullah from the Mirpur Mathelo district. He stated in a statement that raids were being carried out in order to apprehend further offenders connected to the horrible crime.
According to Lanjar, the police department tracked down and apprehended the offender using contemporary technologies. According to the home minister, establishing peace and order is one of the province government’s top goals, which is why more facilities are being given to the police.
The journalist, who worked for a Sindhi weekly, was shot and seriously injured on May 21st, close to Korai Goth, which is 12 kilometers from Mirpur Mathelo, by gunmen on motorcycles.
