According to the MoD, it is the first time that military leaders and officials would participate in war games with representatives from the defense sector.
The Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, is hosting the week-long drill, which got underway Monday morning.
The purpose of the exercise, according to Defense Secretary John Healey, was to make sure that business and government “are capable of innovation at wartime speed”.
“A range of scenarios in which we may be faced by conflict, we may be faced with protracted fighting, and we may be faced with severe disruption in the supply chains,” Healey told the about the war-gaming process.
The government’s defense industrial plan is launched at the same time as the war-gaming.
