The actress had been working on My 21st Century Blues, the sequel to her multi-Brit Award-winning debut.
However, she disclosed in an Instagram post: I’m celebrating my birthday, and because my car was stolen with all of my songwriting books in the trunk, I won’t be releasing a second album anytime soon. I love you, bye.
Accept and go on.
Escapism, the breakthrough single from Raye’s debut album, is her most well-known work.
She has also contributed to several additional top 10 singles, including Secrets, Prada, and Bed, which she co-wrote with Joel Corry and David Guetta.
At the Brit Awards earlier this year, she created history by taking home six of the seven awards for which she received nominations.
However, it took a while to arrive. The singer requested to be released from her contract in 2021, five years after she was signed, because her label was still not releasing her debut.
After Escapism became viral, Raye was given permission to keep the songs she had composed and eventually achieved great success as a solo singer.
Raye also worked with Mabel, Rudimental, Jax Jones, and Disclosure in the years preceding the ultimate publication of her album.
