Usama Mir, a leg-spinner, became the only player from Pakistan to be selected in the 2024–25 Big Bash League (BBL) drafts, earning a position with the Melbourne Stars for the next season.
Usama was the sole cricketer from Pakistan selected to play in the Australian T20 league, out of 69 men and 11 women who entered the draft.
The leg-spinner, who played for the Melbourne Stars in the 2023–24 season, was chosen by the team in the third round of the BBL draft, extending his relationship with the team.
The dates of the 2024–25 BBL season are set for December 15, 2024, and January 27, 2025.
