ISLAMABAD After the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retreated on the issue of the constitutional court, all political parties—including the opposition—finally came to an agreement on the creation of a constitutional bench, according to people with knowledge of the development.
They told News on Thursday that the issue, which was first centered on the constitutional court, has now progressed to the creation of a constitutional bench.
According to insiders, following high-level talks, four leaders of the PPP and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared that all political parties had come to a consensus about the constitution bench’s composition.
This follows the conclusion of a second meeting of the special committee on draft constitutional amendments on Thursday.
