Since the ‘Dubai Unlocked’ investigation went viral, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which produced the exposé, has been inundated with inquiries regarding its workings.
The OCCRP is a nonprofit organization with employees dispersed around six continents and main offices in Sarajevo, Amsterdam, and Washington, DC.
The newsroom collaborates with various media outlets on stories and investigative projects, positioning itself as one of the “largest investigative journalism organizations in the world.”
The organization’s stated goal is “to spread and strengthen investigative journalism around the world and expose crime and corruption so the public can hold power to account.” It was founded in 2007 by seasoned investigative reporters Drew Sullivan and Paul Radu.
