The actor’s most recent set of four tarot-inspired paintings is The Empress.
Even though he is most known for his work in Hollywood, Depp is also a painter and musician. In 2022, he released his first body of work, which came only weeks after he prevailed in a well-publicized US defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
The 61-year-old claims that his life, aspirations, and acting career served as inspiration for the pictures included in the four new paintings, which are titled The Lovers, The Emperor and Strength, and The Empress.
Based on Paradis, the mother of Depp’s children, Jack and Lily-Rose, The Empress pays homage to her.
It depicts a woman in a portrait with a tarnished crown.
“We’ve been very, very close for almost a few decades,” Depp remarks of Paradis in the video that opens the compilation. “I am familiar with her and her inner self. She kind of embodies everything I could never be.
