THATTHA: The Pakistan Navy, together with other rescue personnel, retrieved six more bodies of missing fisherman after a boat capsized six days ago near Keti Bandar, ARY News reported on Sunday.
Majid Hameed, Assistant Commissioner of Kati Bandar, claimed that at least 14 fisherman were missing on Wednesday after their boat capsized near Keti Bandar, Thatta.
The boat, named Al-Asad, had a crew of about 45 fisherman, 31 of whom were rescued after the sinking incident, which prompted a hunt for the missing fishermen.
During the search effort, rescue workers discovered four remains of deceased fisherman near Keti Bandar, which were later transported to Karachi.
The ongoing search operation has identified ten dead so far, and efforts are underway to locate the other four missing fishermen.
According to the Fisher Folk Forum, on March 5, a fishing boat carrying approximately 50 fishermen drowned in the deep water near Thatta.
“The fishing boat capsized in the Arabian Sea and was carrying around 50 fishermen,” said a Coastal Media Center official.
