The 26th Constitutional Amendment has been hailed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a significant step toward political and economic stability as well as the realization of the Charter of Democracy. He thinks the amendment will help the country develop and prosper.
The Prime Minister congratulated everyone on the amendment’s passage while speaking at a federal cabinet meeting.
In particular, he thanked Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and recognized the important achievements of President Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Nawaz Sharif.
He also praised the five opposition MNAs who supported the amendment.
A special parliamentary committee was established to appoint the new CJP.
Sharif claimed that the creation of judicial benches would help resolve the problem of ordinary citizens’ delayed access to justice in cases that had been languishing for a long time.
