MUZAFFARABAD: Poet Ahmed Farhad’s bail request was denied by a Muzaffarabad anti-terrorism court.
This happened the day after the court heard arguments from both sides and reserved its decision.
In an interview with media regarding the court’s directives, Urooj Zainab, the poet’s spouse, stated she intends to appeal the ruling.
She told the media, “Details of why the bail was rejected were not disclosed.”
Concerns about gradual poisoning had prompted the ATC to order the poet’s medical examination just two days prior to the hearing on his bail application.
The poet was to undergo a medical checkup by a group of physicians from the Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences, per an order issued by the ATC last week.
The event transpired during the hearing of Farhad’s case, wherein his attorney, Iman Mazari, asked the court to order a medical examination for the poet from Kashmir.
According to Mazari, Farhad was moved from DhirKot to Muzaffarabad in accordance with certain ATA clauses.
Farhad, who is renowned for his rebellious writing, gained notoriety after going missing during the most recent riots in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
