Because the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has produced proposals targeted at raising the profitability of oil corporations and petrol pumps, the price of petroleum products in Pakistan is projected to increase by Rs2.75 per liter.
According to sources, the government has received a proposal that would raise the profit margin for oil corporations by Rs1.35, to Rs9.22 per litre. The proposed rise for gas sellers is Rs1.40, meaning that their profit will now be Rs10.04 per litre.
The plans also take into consideration the expenses related to the digitalization of gas pumps in addition to these profit modifications. Fuel pump owners have included a cost of 25 paisas per litre, while oil firms have included in a digitalization project cost of 50 paisas per litre.
