After anti-Israel graffiti was written on residences and a car was set on fire in Sydney, Australian police have opened an inquiry.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called the act a “hate crime” and denounced it. He stated to news: “There’s no place for antisemitism in this country, or anywhere for that matter.”
It occurs days after a Melbourne synagogue caught fire, injuring one man in minor ways in what local authorities are investigating as a possible terror incident.
Two individuals between the ages of 15 and 20 are wanted by Sydney authorities in connection with the vandalism incident.
According to New South Wales Police, the two were spotted fleeing the area while donning “face coverings and dark clothing”.
