With an emphasis on female students, the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has increased the number of electric bikes accessible for students from 20,000 to 27,200.
Additionally, all female students who apply will now be entitled to get an electric bike, according to the Transport Department.
In March, the Punjab cabinet approved the distribution of 20,000 electric bikes as part of a plan to provide students, particularly those from low-income homes, with inexpensive transportation.
However, the government has increased the quantity of motorcycles to 27,200 in response to the enormous demand. In order to meet the various demands of students around the province, this offers both electric and gasoline-powered motorcycles.
