LAHORE: According to The News, Munir Kakar of the Hamid Khan group received 1,115 votes, while Mian Rauf Atta of Asma Jahangir’s Independent group received 1,270 votes, defeating him as the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) winner.
Salman Mansoor of the Hamid Khan Professional Group, meanwhile, was chosen to serve as the SCBA secretary.
According to the comprehensive results, the Hamid Khan group was only able to win in Karachi and Quetta, while the Atta group triumphed in Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, and four other cities.
While the Hamid Khan Group candidates continue to hold the lead on three seats, the Asma Jahangir Group is leading on 14 of the 17 seats.
In a statement to the media, the recently elected SCBA President Rauf declared: “The respect for ‘Kala Kot’ (black coat) will not be compromised. Our group has consistently remained in the lead.
