At least six assailants were killed when security forces stopped a significant terrorist attack on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu Cantonment on Tuesday.
Massive explosions were caused by suicide bombers from the militant organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who drove two cars loaded with explosives into the compound’s perimeter, according to the sources.
Two vehicles loaded with explosives attempted to enter the cantt but were thwarted by security personnel, according to other security sources.
Meanwhile, six terrorists were neutralized and another were captured by security forces at different ports of entry.
According to sources, the explosion resulted in the roof of a house collapsing and damaging a nearby mosque.
