In the early hours of August 19, a sudden and powerful storm struck the luxury boat owned by British IT millionaire Mike Lynch, which sunk off the coast of Sicily, Italy, killing seven persons.
In a fraud action surrounding the 2011 $11 billion (£8.3 billion) sale of Autonomy to Hewlett Packard, Mr. Morvillo was a member of Mr. Lynch’s legal team.
The 59-year-old British businessman, who was a co-founder of Autonomy, planned the yacht trip as a way to commemorate his judicial triumph in June when he was declared not guilty.
Six victims’ bodies were found in the, including Mr. Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, and passengers Jonathan and Judy Bloomer.
The day following the catastrophe, Recaldo Thomas, the yacht’s chef, was discovered dead next to the vessel.
On Wednesday, postmortems for the remains of Mr. Bloomer and his wife Judy, who headed Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division in London, are scheduled.
They are still pending for Mr. Thomas, Mr. Lynch, and his daughter.
