Before Monday’s pivotal Premier League match against Wolves, West Ham’s players warmed up in Michael Antonio shirts to encourage their wounded teammate.
The 34-year-old Hammers forward is still in the hospital following a car accident on Saturday.
Antonio will remain in the hospital for the next few days after undergoing surgery on Sunday for a fractured lower limb.
With 68 goals in 268 league games, the Jamaican international is the team’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League.
“Everyone loves Mic; he is a big character, and waiting for news on Saturday was difficult,” West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen said to Sports before kickoff.
