It’s thought that an amateur angler in the UK has captured the largest freshwater fish ever caught using a rod.
A binman from Rainham, east London, Darren Reitz, 34, stated that “luck” was the key to catching the 143-pound (64.4-kg) “monster” catfish.
Mr. Reitz reported that he and three buddies needed roughly fifty minutes to catch the fish in a fishing lake located in Maldon, Essex.
The British Record (Rod Caught) Fish Committee has urged Mr. Reitz to come in touch. The previous catfish record was set at 130 lb (58.9 kg).

Mr. Reitz remarked, “I’m still hurting from reeling.” “I wasn’t expecting to catch that.”
