According to research, production of oilseed rape, wheat, oats, and barley may decrease by four million tons (17.5%) in comparison to 2023.
The Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) looked at government yield data and projections from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHBD).
Lead analyst Tom Lancaster said it identified a “real risk” of higher prices for bread, beer, and biscuits if manufacturers’ expenses are raised due to the poor harvest.
According to the ECIU, beer prices may be impacted by the continued disruption of spring crop growing, such as barley, by the rainy weather.
