Food delivery in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, has been halted due to a lack of supplies and insecurity, according to the UN.
Unrwa, the UN organization for Palestinian refugees, has warned that its distribution center and a World Food Programme warehouse are now inaccessible due to Israel’s ongoing military operations against Hamas in eastern Rafah.
An estimated 810,000 of the more than a million Palestinians seeking safety in Rafah have fled since the Israeli offensive began on May 6th.
Unrwa also stated that its health centres had not received any medical supplies in the last ten days.
The announcement came as the US claimed it did not believe any of the 569 tonnes of food and other goods that had entered Gaza through a recently finished floating pier.
The UN halts food distribution in Rafah owing to shortages and clashes.
