The Department of History and Pakistan Studies at the University of Home Economics has established the Helen Mary Roberts Chair for Peace and Conflict Studies. Brigadier Dr. Helen Mary of the Pakistan Army, who was the primary guest at the ceremony, formally inaugurated the chair.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Faleha Zahra Kazmi emphasized the significance of the new chair during the event, saying that it was established with the intention of advancing peace research on the university’s campus. Noting that “Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, and we take pride in having citizens like Brigadier Dr. Helen Mary, who are a national asset,” she underlined the importance of universities acting as peace ambassadors.
