With the upcoming animated short film “Under the Blaze,” Pakistan will venture into a classic but uncommon form of animation.
The film’s narrative aims to raise awareness of child labor and human rights issues in Pakistan. Awais Shaukat, a 20-year-old animator and designer pursuing a fine arts undergraduate degree at the National College of Arts in Lahore, is the film’s director.
Through his animation company Awartsy Animations, based in Lahore, Rafhan Shaukat is producing the movie.
The original story, which was written by Awais and his colleagues after visiting numerous kilns and hearing various accounts from various families, is based on actual occurrences involving hundreds of thousands of youngsters working on brick kilns.
