Reports that the US delegation had covertly traveled to Tehran through Oman’s mediation were refuted by the US on Wednesday.
The US allegedly sent Iran a list of ten Mossad agents thought to be active within the nation and suspected of being involved in recent killings, including those of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, according to the Kuwaiti daily Al Jarida.
The delegation’s visit was purportedly intended to reduce tensions in the wake of recent Israeli-related killings.
After Israel’s strikes that killed Haniyeh in Tehran and Shukr in Beirut, the U.S. portrayed the exchange as a good-faith effort.
The report implied that Washington was not involved in the execution of these strikes and that the United States was pulling away from them.
