KARACHI: Once more, the US State Department has declined to comment directly on inquiries about the incarceration of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
When asked about “the internal frameworks of another country” during a news briefing on Wednesday, US State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce refused to comment.
A journalist from a Pakistani publication asked her during her press briefing if US President Donald Trump would take “some sort of action” to arrest Khan because she was “the most popular leader with the majority number of seats in parliament.”
The journalist continued by explaining that women’s rights and “everything” have been “shattered” in Pakistan’s democracy over the past two years.
