Over the past two weeks, we have been analyzing the opinions of over fifty voters who supported the Conservatives in the 2019 general election and are part of our YouGov-run online community.
Twenty members of the panel stated they were more likely to vote Conservative, while about thirty members indicated the budget made them less likely to do so.
When asked to rate Jeremy Hunt’s work today, 25 respondents scored the budget negatively, while 17 gave it a positive rating.
While some of those shifting away from other parties – or saying they weren’t sure – were critical of the chancellor’s statement, several of those who said they were more inclined to vote for Tory had previously stated they were already loyal with the party.
