Rights groups have accused the White House of violating due process by carrying out deportations over the weekend in violation of a judge’s ruling. The White House has refuted this claim.
23 suspected members of the global MS-13 gang and 238 suspected Venezuelan gang members were transferred from the United States to an El Salvadorian prison. A statute that hasn’t been used since World War Two was used to remove some of them from the nation.
The action was taken in spite of a judge’s interim block. The White House said that the judge’s ruling, which was made after the group was deported, was illegal in and of itself.
The inmates’ identities and information about their alleged criminal activity or gang involvement have not been disclosed by either El Salvador or the US authorities.
