Thanks to the amazing James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), astronomers have managed to take a breathtaking picture of the Horsehead Nebula, commonly known as Barnard 33.
According to Space.com, the James Webb Telescope has just disclosed information that has never before been known to humans. This information reveals various waves of rising gas coming from the west of Orion B, a cloud located 1,300 lightyears away from Earth that contains molecules necessary for the formation of stars.
The image displays the chilly, thick gas cloud in the upper left corner, which is illuminated by a recently born star. The erosion of light leaving thick, dense gas and dust is responsible for the appearance of the horse’s structure, which is a photon-dominated zone.
