According to Norfolk Police, just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency personnel were summoned to the university’s Sportspark facility.
A man who had been utilizing exercise equipment was involved in the event.
Despite receiving paramedic treatment, he was declared dead at the site. His family has been notified.
The gym is still closed while investigations are conducted, according to the police, who are considering the death as unexplained.
