Approximately 99% of delegates endorsed Ms. Harris in her nomination petition, as stated by the DNC.
After President Joe Biden resigned from the contest, it solidifies her status as the Democratic front-runner for the election scheduled for November 5.
DNC chair Jaime Harrison said in a statement, “Our party has met this historic moment with a transparent, democratic, and orderly process to unite behind a nominee with a proven record who will lead us in the fight ahead.”
It was revealed by her team that Ms. Harris will attend her first rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, August 6, alongside her new vice presidential nominee.
She’s going to take a four-day tour of battlegrounds, which will include Arizona and Michigan.
Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania, might be at the top of her list of potential running mates, based on the venue of the first event.
Other contenders are US Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, Kentucky Governor Tim Walz, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, and Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky.
